- No activation, delivery or card fees — the price above is the total
- Prices generated from the same engine that charges you at checkout
- Top-ups available, so a small plan can grow if you need it
- Validity starts when the eSIM first connects in India, not when you buy
What actually drives the price
Data allowance is the biggest factor, but it scales in your favour — larger plans almost always cost less per gigabyte. Validity is the one people overpay on: a 30-day plan bought for a 5-day trip is 25 days of nothing.
Daily versus total matters more than it looks. A 1 GB/day plan over a week is 7 GB of allowance, but you can't carry yesterday's unused data forward — so heavy-use days are capped even if your weekly total is untouched. A fixed bundle lets you use it whenever you like.
A sensible way to choose
- Count the days you'll actually be in India.
- Estimate roughly: maps and messaging are light, video and hotspotting are not.
- Pick the lowest per-GB plan that covers those days, and top up if you're wrong.
Common questions
What's the cheapest India eSIM?
Our lowest price for India is $1.25. The cheapest plan is not always the best value though — at $2.65 per GB, 10 GB per day over 1 day works out lowest per gigabyte.
How do I avoid buying more data than I need?
Start small. 14 of our India plans can be topped up in the app, so you can buy a short plan and add data only if you actually run out — instead of paying up front for data you may never use.
Are there any extra fees?
No. The price on this page is the amount charged at checkout — no activation fee, no delivery fee, no card surcharge, and nothing added at the end. The figures here are generated directly from the same pricing our checkout uses.
Why is price per GB the number to look at?
Because headline prices always flatter the smallest plan. A cheap 100 MB pass and a large monthly bundle aren't comparable until you divide by the data you actually get, which is why we publish that column.
Does a daily plan or a total-data plan work out better?
It depends on the trip. Daily plans suit longer stays with steady use — maps, messaging, the occasional upload. Fixed bundles are usually cheaper for short city breaks where you're on wi-fi most of the time. Both are listed above with their real per-GB cost so you can see which fits.
